Eaglesham Social Lunch Club
Eaglesham Social Lunch Club
The Eaglesham Age Concern Social Lunch Club meets in Montgomerie Hall in Gilmour Street once a week on a Friday from about 10am till 2.30pm. This social lunch club has been in existence since 1992. Alison Gray, the present convenor, has been running the social lunch club for the past 4 years, helped by a team of enthusiastic volunteers.
An Age Concern Eastwood mini-bus picks up the members from the village and takes them home at the end of the day. Lunch, tea and coffee are provided for a small fee. In the morning members usually chat and play scrabble, cards or dominoes. After lunch there are organised activities or speakers – for example Illustrated travel talks, games, crafts, entertainers and visits from the local school pupils. The group also go on outings to the coast, garden centres or places of interest and have an annual Christmas party.
